Northern Red Oak

This fast-growing native oak has a pyramidal form when young; rounded symmetrical habit when older. Glossy, dark green leaves have pointed lobes, turn bright red in fall and persist into winter. To prevent the spread of oak wilt, prune in winter. For maximum energy conservation, plant this excellent shade tree on the west or east side of your home.
